I have always had a fascination towards paintings...
The effect of colors has always been magical. Everyday, as I walk to my gym I wonder about what is it that makes the sky such a beautiful canvas and how the Sun and his light play a major role in naturally painting many a masterpiece for us :)
Even the many experiences that I go through- many a times indirectly - like say -
the joy at seeing a very old woman wearing colorful clothes and trying to hop over a pothole and the glint of mischief in her eye as shes transformed into another day in the past
or the cute charming couple who struggle to hold onto bags, lunch bags, laptops and listen to music on the same pair of ear phones
or the smile of innocence of the little child as he waves through the glinted glass of his father's car struggling to let his fingers touch yours as you wait at a traffic light..plentiful colors multitude emotions..
colors go hand in hand with energy and moods. Some shades make you jump with joy, some others provide solace and some other induce passion and anger and fear and gloom...wow as myriad the hues so are the multiple emotions...
Light is the core or the superset from which multiple colors are formed and its the same light which adds depth, fibre and tone to various hues many of which cannot be described or discerned.
If the intensity of the sun changes, the brightness and the associated energy that a color conveys also changes. Thus Lord Surya adds many shades to existence itself.
probably, Van Gogh did feel the power of the colors around him when he said - 'I dream my painiting and paint my dream'
