Man/Woman Yoga

Another thought as I perform Yoga:

When we practise yoga, we are told to strengthen the core to support our backbone.

In life do not the husband and wife work as the core and the backbone creating a foundation for a family?

The Flow

Words I thought of as I performed my daily routine of Bikram Yoga:

In every inhale the power of the cosmos envelops us,
In every exhale the destruction of that same power emanates out of us.

In the asanas and the poses, we find a flow that is beyond comprehension as there seems to be a meaning in the hollowness,
the emptyness making it all seem full

There is no certainty in peace, but there is a certainty in relief as the muscles tire and the mind alerts,
There is a glow that beams from within the soul, surreal yet very deep
Almost seems that the divide between human and almighty shrinks..

fitness on facebook

I am an ardent follower of the magazine Shape. Thanks to their complimentary copies which introduced me to them. I cant stop waiting for the many complimentary doable workouts that come as part of the content.

Shape this month also featured finding applications on facebook which would help track our workouts, diet plans and also provide exercise tips. The applications I found useful among the ones that were listed are:

1) Fit-ify!- this application monitors your weight on a daily basis and provides a graph on your progress. This is a definite must for people like me who like pictorial representation :D The weight has to be keyed in on Lbs which many of us Indians may not be accustomed to- just multiply by 2.2. For ex- if your weight is 70 kgs, 70*2.2 will give you the Lbs. Wots best about this application is that it also converts your BMI- body mass index and indicates if you belong to either of four categories- underweight, normal, overweight or obese..

2) Yoga journal pose of the day - this application has a rating of one star which sums it all up. the application widget has issues and i logged it in to receive 3 free yoga poses everyday. Will review progress based on its effectiveness. Premature to comment on the poses as I have just updates this app.

3) Mapmyrun- this application made me feel relieved. It not only helps you map your route of run/walk/cycling but also helps you find the area based on the location you are in if you are new to the said locality. However, I have only checked it for people living in the US, do not know if suggestions cover earth's geography..

Will provide more updates on these apps based on usage. Until then do give it a shot and your comments.
