Mere Saamne wali khidki main

I can't get enough of Kishorejis' songs...

While creating a playlist of the videos that have him as the playback singer, I came across this beautiful and accurate translation of the song' Mere Samne wali khidaki mein' in the movie 'padosan'

[Paragraph 1]
In the window across from me
Lives a piece of the moon
This is the problem, that she stays
Somewhat detached from me
In the window across from me
Lives a piece of the moon

[Paragraph 2]
From the day that I saw her
I have forgotten to light my lamp
I have just sat there clutching my heart
I have forgotten about coming and going anywhere
Now constantly in my eyes
That mischievous face remains
In the window across from me
Lives a piece of the moon

[Paragraph 3]
The rain even came and left
The clouds also thundered and rained
But for one glimpse of her
I remained thirsty, oh god of beauty
When will my eyes thirst be extinguished
Day and night this worry remains
In the window across from me
A piece of the moon lives
This is the problem, that she stays
Somewhat detached from me
In the window across from me
A piece of the moon lives
