On Saturday I felt I hit the wall, I wrote soooo many words again not knowing conclusively where it would go--its like being in the middle of a junction and finding the right road to choose to reach a specific junction...
After careful consideration of options, I decided I had to take volunteerism as seriously as the questions I tried to seek answers to..its not enough if one write about issues or NGOs/Non profit organisations and then say I did my bit..so what could i do which would contribute to visible change?
I did attend an orientation program for teaching 7th and 8th grade students through the Baalajanaagraha program, but it was more out of curiosity, but today after two days of careful reading up of available resources and views of people who have been a part of this program I have decided to volunteer 45 mins of my weekend to this program where I will learn from the fertile minds of children and understand Citizenship and democracy better. I have always wanted to teach as teaching is a profession which would allow a hitchiker of knowledge to remain satiated through the journey of life :)
I am looking forward to this journey and wish that I could do much more - but I guess sometimes journeys are meant to be one step at a time...However, if you would want to do something on similar lines you may look at multiple opportunities available at http://www.janaagraha.org/
